Manchester will host the National Youth and Junior Track Championships for the first time since 2015 between the 28 July to the 1 August 2025.
In partnership with Manchester City Council, British Cycling will host the Championships at the National Cycling Centre for the next three years, bringing the top domestic competition for these age groups across five days of exhilarating action.
The Championships see the best young cycling talents in the country bid for the domestic crowns, with youth titles contested by those aged up to 16, while those aged under 18 compete for the junior crowns.
Britain’s brightest young cyclists will look to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Laura Kenny, Charlie Tanfield, Katie Archibald and Ethan Hayter who won youth and junior titles during their early careers.
Manchester, who last hosted the Championships ten years ago, is the home of the Great Britain Cycling Team, and hosts major cycling events such as the Lloyds National Track Championships.
Head of Sport at British Cycling, Anthony Gill, said:
“We are delighted to be working with Manchester City Council to bring this brilliant event to the National Cycling Centre in Manchester over the next three years. The event sees the next generation of riders aim for the youth and junior titles as they look to follow in the footsteps of the greatest British riders in history. We look forward to seeing all the riders and spectators there in the summer.”
Cllr John Hacking, Manchester City Council Executive Member for Skills, Employment & Leisure
“After a ten year absence, we’re incredibly proud to welcome back the National Youth and Junior Track Championships back to Manchester for the next three years.
“On the back of being announced as the European Capital of Cycling and the National Cycling Centre marking its 30th anniversary last year, and seeing the return of the National Championships, there couldn’t be a better time to celebrate our city’s passion for the sport of cycling.
“Manchester is the home of British Cycling and the Great Britain Cycling Team and has been the stage for hundreds of medal-winning moments over the years. Hosting this prestigious event once again shines a spotlight on the next generation of cycling talent, and we’re thrilled to be working with British Cycling and GLL to inspire young people from across the country to get involved and aim high.”
Roxanne Walker, Partnership Manager for GLL in Manchester said:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to see the National Youth and Junior Track Championships returning to Manchester for the first time in a decade. It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase the next generation of cycling talent at one of the UK’s most iconic velodromes, and we’re proud to support such an inspiring event.”
