George Thompson (Sleaford Wheelers) secured only his second victory of the season when he soloed to a win in round 6 of the Lincolnshire Championships - while little brother Henry took the Youth win.

Thompson was the fastest starter in a tough field race which was bumpy and had some deceptive drags. He was joined by Mark Cotton (Ellmore Factory Racing) at the front as these two forged a small gap of a chase trio of Rick Lister (Ellmore Factory Racing), Jon Wells (VC Lincoln) and the visiting Nathan Miller (Buzz Cycles).

Thompson led for the first lap and a half before Cotton came to the front to continue the work. For the first four laps the gap was around 10 seconds on the chase trio until Thompson was able to gap Cotton over the hay bales which separated the two fields. Cotton looked to have cracked and was soon caught by the trio behind and again dropped over the bales.

Thompson was now away solo with around 20 minutes of racing completed and took time out of the riders behind each lap as the chase turned into a battle for second place.

Thompson was able to take the win with a comfortable gap behind as Miller edged out Lister in the gallop for second after a coming together over the bales with Wells coming in close behind for fourth who also had a comfortable gap behind to Cotton in fifth.

Lister, who finished third in the Veterans category at the National Trophy the weekend before, was the first veteran, Jordan Gell (VC Lincoln) was the first junior and Diane Lee (Zepnat RT) was the first woman.

Henry Thompson (Sleaford Wheelers) took a solo win in the Youth race leading from start to finish.

James Armstrong broke away from a group of three riders to take second place and top Under 14 with Harry Lewis (Sherwood Pines) outsprinting Matt Ellis (Spalding CC) for third place.

In the Under 12s Jake Norton continued his winning streak lapping up to third place Bradley Sprogis (VC Lincoln) Only Kerrigan Robb (Witham Wheelers) avoided being lapped.
