Lee Williams took an incredible ninth Welsh Cyclo-Cross Championship title after cruising to victory at the Royal Showground.
Rain fell overnight and made the course, staged around a series of hills, very slippery. But the conditions were not a problem for the Gateway Racing rider as he finished ahead of Cardiff JIF’s Adam King.
Daniel Lewis (RAF CA) took third place and CC Abergavenny were awarded the team prize with Tim Davies in fifth and Joe Lally in sixth.
In the veteran, junior and women’s race, junior rider Dylan Kerfoot-Robson (Marsh Tracks RT) was first over the line, with Tim Davies, a veteran 40 racer, coming second.
Philip Roach (Jewson) was fifth overall and was awarded top veteran 50. Melanie Alexander (Cardiff JIF) was top woman.
Another Cardiff JIF member, Tomos Nesham, won the youth race with under 14 rider Craig Rogers (Birkenhead North End CC) in second. Quickest under 16 girl was Elizabeth Bennett (Cardiff JIF).
