Tom Hawkins Road Race

Road , Uffculme – Sunday, 19 May 2019

Event Summary

Event Overview

On 19 May 2019 Exeter Wheelers are once again promoting our annual race the Tom Hawkins Road Race. This long established event is an early season highlight the South West. It will consist of 9 full laps representing 110 km of racing.

The course takes in a mix of technical Devon lanes, fast downhills and a long climb out of Somerset on the A38. In previous years this race has seen a bit of everything; small breaks, groups up and down the roads and even bunch sprints. The technical sections in the closing kilometres, and a small kick before the finish, ensures no race is decided until the last 50 meters.

Race HQ will be Magelake Pavilion Hall in Uffculme. The hall has good facilities with plenty of parking, sizable changing rooms, showers and a kitchen so we can provide our first rate tea and cake services throughout. Being Devon there are some nice country pubs and tea rooms in the area for any supporters.

A neutral service car will be provided by Exeter Wheelers. So please bring a spare wheel or two that you’d be happy to race on if needed.
