Following on from a sell-out 2018/19 Winter Series, Thetford Racing will once again be organising this increasingly popular Winter Series MTB XC race series. Keeping with the ethos of 'a back to basics' series for the Eastern region, the Winter Series is for novices to seasoned racers. The series is designed to promote an all-inclusive ethos with stripped back categories and a relaxed atmosphere with close, competitive racing.

This race series will take place across two counties, taking in some old favourite venues and some new & exciting routes! Each of the 4 rounds will have categories from 1 hour to 3 hours race time. The racing has been designed so that all competitors finish at the same time so the podium presentations are well attended. 

There will be a total limit of 300 riders per event, so it will never be too congested on the course and plenty of room to enjoy the famous Thetford single-track  – It’s highly advisable to enter early to avoid disappointment!!

Whether you have entered the hour, hour n half or three hour category, positions are gained by riders who complete the most amount of laps within their chose race time. It’s worth noting that racers are permitted to complete their final lap as long as they start within their time category. I.e. a rider in the 3 hour category can go out for another lap as long as the lap is started before the finish flag goes up. There’ll be on the day prizes for the top three riders in each category presented at each round along with Series Prizes presented at the final round, round 4. To qualify for the overall series positions you will need to race in 3 out of the 4 rounds.  All the race details, including the format and series rankings can be found on our website www.thetfordracing.com

Round 4 is being held at Shouldham Warren.  This unique terrain for Norfolk offers a challenging course, short sharp climbs, thrilling descents, technical areas, fast flowing single track all coming together for the final round of the series.

Online entries will close on  7th March  2020,  or earlier if we reach the limit of 300 riders for this event.
