Newcastle Youth Omnium; Cancelled due to rain forecast.

I have made the decision looking at the weather forecasts to cancel tomorrow’s event, it’s going to rain, all the forecasts say the rain is moving up from the South in a long line across the Midlands, when it arrives, it is going to last 2 to 3.5 hour, some say it will arrive at 10am others around 12 noon. the arrival time is getting closer to 10pm all the time in the forecasts. When it does arrive, that's it, too heavy to dry up.
Taken the early decision to make the early call due to riders and officials travelling from all over Great Britain, nothing like looking at a wet track for hours for nothing to happen.
Thank you, to all the volunteers, for your offers of help on the day, I will be asking again in 2023, thank you to riders for entering, refunds will be processed towards the end of next week.
It is very disappointing as an organiser for the second year in a row to make this call, after no event in 2020, and not an easy one. I must thank again Richard Hughes from Physio at the Lodge, for his continued sponsorship of the event, in 2021 and again in 2022.
