Sponsored by Gemba Advantage, Bristol South CC are hosting their annual cat 3/4 road race on the 14th May 2023. Entry is based on first come first serve basis. The course will feature 8 10km laps of undulating terrain, with 15 points up for grabs for the first place rider.

HQ will be based nearby at Bishop Sutton AFC, where parking is available. More details will be supplied closer to the date by email.

Info for Riders

Entries have now closed. 7 places are still available for on the day entry, which will cost £40 (cash only). Sign on, on the day opens at 9:15 and race briefing will begin at 9:45.

The Course

From the HQ until you reach the bottom of the first climb the race will be neutralised. As you pass the finish line for the first time the lap board will read “8 laps to go”. In total (including neutralised sections) you will cross the finish line 8 times. The route also includes the return journey to the HQ.

The Intermediate Sprint

The intermediate sprint will occur at the end of the 4th lap. The same finish line will be used for the intermediate sprint and the final sprint. A whistle will be blown to indicate  that you have one lap until the intermediate sprint. A bell will be rung to indicate that you have one lap until the final sprint.

Neutral Service

Neutral service (NS) will be provided by Mud Dock Cycles, and Felix Young from Avid Sport. Wheels must be given to NS drivers before 9.45am when the race briefing begins. Riders should write their name / number on masking tape and attach this to the hub of the wheel handed in. This will make the return of the wheel to the rider easier after the event.
