1st Chard Wheelers and RNRNCA welcome all senior and junior riders to a new exciting format of racing on the well loved RNAS Merryfield airfield circuit. A three mile course that encourages fast and aggressive racing.

There will be two races, a pursuit style handicap race open to all senior and junior riders; and a women's Regional A circuit race.  Both races will be a distance of 35.1 miles (11 laps).

As well as prizes for the leading finishers, there will be awards for the best 3rd, 4th, V40 and V50+ riders.

Info for Riders

As RNAS Merryfield is an active working militaryairfield please observe the following:

• Pre-entry only. There will be no entry on the day. This is so your ID can be checked on entry to the airfield.
• Please only use the portaloos provided (no quick dashes into the bushes).
• No gels or wrapped energy bars will be allowed during (one discarded one can cause massive damage to an aircraft engine).
• Riding and racing is allowed on the perimeter track only, no riding across the airfield or down the runways. If you are unfortunate enough to puncture or crash, make your way back to the start/finish around the perimeter track.
• The control tower compound is strictly out of bounds.
• Access to the site will be allowed from 8.30am and signing on will open at 9am.
• All riders will attend a pre-race briefing at 9.50am at the start / finish.
• Anyone failing to obey the above instructions will be disqualified and barred from further races at the venue, and further action may be taken. The RNRMCA, South West Region and local clubs have worked extremely hard to get racing back at what is now a very busy military airfield. Don't spoil it!
