Carnon Downs Youth Stage race 3 stages over 2 days
Saturday 27th May 2023 closed circuit race at Wheal Jane (entry via BC website) - stage 1
Sunday 28th May 2023 Hill climb and Individual Time Trial – stages 2 & 3
We will also be closing the road at Carnon Downs on the Sunday for younger youth riders – details will follow. We also have planned a range of other events on the Sunday so you can make a weekend of the event.
Please note stages 2 and 3 of the event will be held under CTT rules – you will be sent an email once you have entered the Saturday race with details and link to enter, additional fees apply. (Road bikes only for the TT stages.)
The main event will be Youth A & B
We will also put on races for 4th, 3rd and Womens categories (depending on numbers Womens event may be combined with the 4th & 3rd cat race.
Penzance Wheelers will be supporting Wheal Velocity running these events and have put up a substantial prize fund for the stage race.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Please ensure all riders arrive 30 mins before registration. Youth riders will need to have a gear check before they can race, please allow time for this to happen. There are toilets on site. On site parking will be clearly signed on the entrance road.

Please note that for the C's (U12's), D's (U10's) and E's (U8's) entering this event also enters you into the closed circuit criterium race at Carnon Downs on 28/5/23, as well as the race at Wheal Jane on the 27/5/23. You are getting two races for the price of one! You do not have to complete on both days if you don't want to, but the option is there if you would like to. This is part of the youth stage race.

The timings for the event on 28/5/23 are as follows:

U8's (E) - 10:30am start - must be signed on a minimum 30 mins before 10 min race

U10's/U12's 10:50 am start - must be signed on a minimum of 30 mins before 20 min race.
