Bath BMX Go Race Summer Series Round 3

BMX , Bath – Friday, 14 Jul 2023

Event Summary

Event Overview

Coach-led club racing open to all ages and abilities. Register online or pay in cash on the night. Online entry £7, on the night entry £8

Online entry closes the day before the race. On the night entry closes at 18:30 sharp with racing starting at 19:00.

This is entry-level coach led racing, although more experienced riders are very welcome and will enjoy some competitive racing. Any disputes will be settled at the sole discretion of the coach.

Accessibility and inclusion are very important to to the club and we will be offering accessible racing. If you/your rider is not able or sufficiently confident to participate in BMX racing in it's standard format, perhaps due to disability, aversion to the sound of the start gate or lack of confidence when riding in close proximity to others, we will make every effort to adapt the format of racing to your needs. Please enter the accessible race category and contact the club to discuss what will work for you.

Visiting clubs and teams are welcome to bring gazebos for their riders. These should be erected along the fence line adjacent to the first straight.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Riders must complete a minimum of three rounds in the same race category to qualify for an end of series trophy.

Riders are encouraged to enter according to their age and gender but have the option to 'ride up' as follows:

Female riders can opt to race in male categories

Riders can 'ride up' by one year. e.g. a rider aged 15 can opt to ride in the 16-29 category. Riders in the 30+ categories can opt to ride in the 16-29 age group.

Racing will be run on Sqorz but no transponder is required.

Clipless pedals may only be used by riders in age categories 13 and over.

Usual BMX equipment and clothing rules apply. Please check the rulebook at contact the club if you need guidance. Mountain bikes and freestyle BMX bikes are very suitable at this level. Just make sure that you have at least one brake and have taken off your pegs. Again, get in touch if you need any advice.

The club has a selection of bikes and equipment, including helmets, available to borrow at no extra charge. At present this cannot be reserved or booked in advance so will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. We haven't run out of bikes or kit to date but availability is not guaranteed. Please turn up in good time if you need to borrow equipment.

Parking: Trackside parking is available on a first-come, first served basis. If you arrive to find the gate closed this means that trackside parking is full. The main car park is shared with users of other sports facilities (football etc.) and can be very busy at times. We recommend Odd Down Park and Ride for overflow parking (free parking and less than a mile from the track). Limited on-road parking can also be found in the area. Wherever you park please do so considerately and legally.

By train: Bath only has one train station which is about a mile and a half from the track, all of it uphill. Travel light if you can!
