To celebrate KLMTB’s 10^th anniversary we are organising a "back to basics" xc race with all proceeds from the event going to the East Anglian Air Ambulance.  This event is being fully supported by Forestry England.

The venue Shouldham Warren is a favourite of many riders with its flowing single track, short sharp climbs and swooping downhill segments. As always our volunteers will ensure the trails are in pristine condition ready for the race.

Keeping with the ethos of a "back-to-basics" race for the eastern region this event is designed for everyone from novices for seasoned races. Our aim is to promote an all-inclusive event with stripped back categories and a relaxed atmosphere with close, competitive racing.   

Whether you enter the hour, hour n half or 3-hour category, positions are gained by riders who complete the most laps within the chosen race time. It’s worth noting that racers are permitted to complete their final lap as long as they start within their time category, i.e. a rider in the 3 hour category can go out for another lap as long as the lap is started before the finish flag goes up.  (Race categories are determined by your age as at 31st December 2024)

There will be on the day prizes for the top 3 riders in each category.  Places will be limited to 300 riders.

We are also encouraging riders to support the East Anglian Air Ambulance by raising individual sponsorship or donating on the day.  By supporting KLMTB with our fundraising activities, you will be helping the East Anglian Air Ambulance to continue providing this vital support to those who unfortunately require that lifesaving assistance.

Don't leave your entry until the last minute as for the event to go ahead we need a minimum of 150 riders entered before the end of January 2024.  

Please support this race, the first one at Shouldham Warren since before the pandemic so as part of your New Years resolution of getting fit, cycling more, come and enjoy some MTB racing again, meet some old friends and support a worthy charity.  

Any cycle business that would like to offer support for this event would be most welcome to either have a stall on the day or sponsor a race category.  Forestry England have agreed there will be no pitch fees for this event but KLMTB would welcome a donation to the charity.  If you are interested please email kingslynnmtb@gmail.com

NB - This event will be cancelled if we do not reach the 150 entries.  No Ebikes or drop bars are allowed, mountain bikes only.
