Info for Riders

Eligibility

  • Open to any rider with a disability who holds a valid British Cycling Silver or Gold membership or a valid competition licence issued by any other national federation recognised by the UCI.
  • Classified riders will compete in the Sport Group allocated in their most recent National or International Classification session. However, International Classification will supersede National Classification for all events on the UCI calendar (incl. National Championships).
  • Riders with a disability who do not meet the UCI eligible impairment criteria may compete in the following groups:
    - Men’s and Women’s Bicycles (MC-D, WC-D)
    - Men’s and Women’s Handcycles (MH-D, WH-D)
    - Men’s and Women’s Tricycles (MT-U, WT-U)
    - Men’s and Women’s Recumbent Tricycles (MT-R, WT-R)
    - Open and Women’s Tandems (OB, WB)
  • Riders under 16 from 14 years old may only compete in traffic-free or closed circuit events.

Event Format

  • Bicycles and Tandems - 18 laps - 21.6km
  • Handcycles and Tricycles - 12 laps - 14.4km
  • Riders from each Sport Group will be set off in sequence. Riders within the Handcycle and Tricycle Sport Groups will be seeded based on current and previous series rankings, with the fastest riders starting first.
  • Riders within the Bicycle and Tandem Sport Groups will be seeded based on current and previous series rankings, with the slowest riders starting first.
  • Specific information about facilities:
    - HQ will be in the cabins directly adjacent to the curcit.
    - Parking Directly next to the track is limited, however there is ample space at the main York sport building. 
    - Changing and toilet facilities including showers are available within the main York sport facility.
    - Spectator are incouraged to gather around the track, but please remain behind the barriers.
