Event Overview

Alex Dowsett, stage winner in this year's Giro d'Italia, supports the Summer Breeze Sportive
This is an 88 mile Sportive event in the lanes of Essex.  The sportive starts near Maldon and heads east towards Peldon and Abberton Reservoir then northwest towards Finchingfield before heading over North Hill on the way to the finish. We are running a 25 mile event for those who want the enjoyment of the lanes of Essex without the distance! There will be event photographers on the course and plenty of hot food at the finish.

Enter now to ride the Sportive supported by Alex Dowsett exactly one year before the Tour de France comes through the roads of Essex. Alex is aiming to ride the Tour next year - so this will be his only chance to ride the Summer Breeze Sportive!

Info for Riders

The Summer Breeze Sportive and Charity Bike Ride are supported by Alex Dowsett this year. The event is on Sunday 7 July 2013. Once again, at the request of returning riders, we intend keeping the routes more or less the same as in previous years and after the success of running the event from our base last year the start and finish for the ride will again be at Plantation Hall, Colchester Road, Heybridge, near Maldon. The 85 mile long Sportive route starts at 9am and has an entry fee of £20. The shorter 25 mile route starts at 10am with an entry fee of £15.
