Event Overview

The Strines Challenge

A Reliability Ride over 50 miles with 8,700ft of ascent. Based at Bradfield Village Hall. The route covers some of the road used in the 2014 Tour de France and previously the Tour of Britain and Milk Race. The iconic and legendary Strines Valley is full of enchanted lanes which lead to some very steep climbs, some of which are 25%. The route is very quiet with most lanes single track.

This event forms part of a year long fundraising effort by Sheffrec CC. All proceeds will be donated to the Wilf Ward Trust and Sheffield Childrens Hospital. Post ride refreshments will be available at the HQ.

This is a non competitive ride and entrants won't be timed. Possibly the hardest 50 miles you will ever ride.

The HQ is Bradfield Village Hall which situated in the picturesque village of Low Bradfield, 7 miles north west of Sheffield. The Hall is located on The Sands, a small lane opposite the village post office. Parking is available in the car park at the back of the cricket pavillion.
