Pfeiffer's Profile

Three-time national road champion Pfeiffer Georgi has a wealth of experience aged just 23, and this summer she will make her debut at the Olympic Games in Paris as part of a Great Britain team who will hope to challenge for gold in the road race.

Born in the vicinity of the legendary London outdoor velodrome, Herne Hill, Georgi appeared to be destined for a life of competition on two wheels. Her family, all cycling lovers, later moved to Wiltshire where she began competing from the age of six, at the Castle Combe Circuit.

A promising junior, Georgi collected victories in numerous significant races in her age group, and signed a contract with Team Sunweb in 2019, working with the team as an under-23 and making her professional debut the same year. In 2020, following the Covid-19 lockdown, Georgi suffered a crash at the Classic Brugge-de-Panne which saw her fracture two vertebrae and brought an end to her season.

She returned to racing in 2021, riding back into form in service of her teammates, and won the youth classification at the Simac Ladies Tour that summer, before returning to the UK in the autumn and taking her first national road title on the streets of Lincoln.

A punchy rider who excels on cobbles, short climbs and sprints alike, Georgi continued to build in 2022, narrowly missing out on a second consecutive national title in Castle Douglas. Georgi collected another youth classification victory at the Baloise Ladies Tour in Belgium, before achieving her best result at Women’s WorldTour level - a second place at the final edition of the Vårgårda WestSweden one-day race, beaten only by Audrey Cordon-Ragot.

The 2023 season saw Georgi breakthrough the ranks, taking a sensational first WorldTour victory at the Classic Brugge-de-Panne, seeking redemption after crashing out in 2020. Reclaiming her national title in Saltburn, Georgi went on to win two more one-day classics in Belgium before placing fourth in the UEC Road European Championships.

Building towards Paris 2024, Georgi began the year with an impressive ride at Paris-Roubaix Femmes, where she made it onto the podium in third place. She secured a third national title in Saltburn just a few weeks prior to taking to the streets of Paris for the Olympic road race, where she hopes to make an impact as part of the Great British selection.
