Steve Peat took a close victory at round four of the British Downhill Series at Moelfre, narrowly edging out Marc Beaumont. On day one rain turned the course wet, but by Sunday the track was drier - not that this stopped any drama.
The air ambulance was called upon no less than three times - even though there is one tree on the Moelfre downhill there are still plenty of chances to crash big.
With races getting delayed, timed seeding was scrapped and the races run off immediately, with one small alteration on track. Beaumont and Peat were favourites - Peat readying for the defence of his World Championship title, and Beaumont fresh off a World Cup win in Italy.
And so it proved, Peat taking the win by the smallest of margins over Beaumont, and Josh Bryceland third.
Tracy Moseley took a convincing win in the women's race, eight seconds up on Katy Curd. British Champion Jess Stone was third, a firther three seconds adrift.
