Classic prize on offer for road race in Devon
The founder of www.rutrainingtoday and manager of the probikekit.com road team, James Smith, has offered to take over the promotion of the South West event, the fourth Brent Tor road race on 29th August 2010. The event is a National B road race over a distance of 51 miles near Mary Tavy in Devon and one of three races on the day. The others include a Women only event over 25 miles and a Junior road race over 40 miles.

James explained “I am good friends with Andy Parker, the South West's British Cycling rep and he asked me if I could take it over.” 

The race has also received a boost in sponsorship from www.marvinwatches.com, a luxury Swiss watch manufacturer with a 160 year heritage based in Neuchatel, Switzerland.

Asked about the partnership, Marvin Community Manager Jerome Pineau said: “The PROBIKEKIT team has been testing our M108 collection with great success. So when James sought out our support and suggested we offer a prize for this race, we jumped at the opportunity. British Pro Cycling and Marvin share many fundamental attributes like heritage, resilience, determination and courage. So it was a perfect match, and we’re proud and excited to be involved with the sport.”

The National B road race is fairly short at 51 miles but includes five climbs of the long Brent Tor hill. Set in stunning countryside, this a great place for riders and spectators alike. Also available on the day will be sports masseurs for the pre –race rub down and the organisers stress there are no entries on the day and riders are urged to enter as quick as possible.

The prize!
The organisers of the Elite race are offering the M107 model, coming soon to the UK, as first prize in the Mens race. They are hoping it will attract the best riders in the country to battle it out over the tough rolling course.  The "racy" M107 has a certain functional affinity with the M103 model. This is a rectangular 50x38mm ETA Valjoux 7750 chronograph automatic model with a 46 hour power reserve. The M107 has a modern and sporty look and the bracelet has racing style aeration holes and fine red stitching visible on the outside. Dials come in silver or black.
