Omega Thruxton Circuits

A very large turnout at today's races was rewarded with some good racing. The early morning cloud and wind soon changed to be nice and bright by time the E/1/2 race started

The race was won by Chris Opie (Pendragon) after he had stopped and changed his front wheel after it had buckled and he had to drive hard to get on the back of the leading group

The first couple of laps saw a couple of riders trying to get away but the bunch soon covered all the attacks covered. The race broke up after five laps with a large group splitting from the bunch and after a couple of more laps the leading group soon had a very good lead of about 40secs.

The next attack came from team mates Simon Brooks and Rowan Horner (VC St Raphael) who soon opened a gap over the bunch, but soon they were joined by riders coming across the gap and then the leading bunch were all back together again.

With a lap to go the leading group rolled through the finish line to set up a sprint finish. As the leaders round the chicane for the last time it wasn't obivious who was clear, until Opie sprinted clear to take a comfortable win even finding time to salute his win and look around to see who he beaten.RESULTS
