Final standings Complete Standings - all age groups (PDF) Please note that the number shown in the Total column is the final tally having removed the two lowest scores from the calculation. In the U16 Boys, it was a very closely contested contest with the final standings literally coming right down to the final sprint primes on the final day. However, with only seven points separating the top 4 it was National U16 Champion Gabriel Cullaigh who cemented his domination this year by winning the National Series as well. Fabio Close and Charlie Tanfield round out the top 3 in what has been one of the most closely fought battles for many years and argues well for the future success of these young stars. The U16 girls race saw the top three riders as the only ones to break the 100 point barrier with Emily Nelson taking the win ahead of Melissa Lowther and Lucy Shaw. All three were consistent high finishers throughout the 8-round series. In the U14 Boys, Daniel Tullett took an early lead with two wins early on and held on to win by 37 points over 2nd placed Matthew Walls with Matt Draper in 3rd. 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed riders here swapped places several times throughout the series making it neck and neck throughout. The U14 Girls saw a convincing winner in the shape of the ever dominant Charlotte Broughton who won every one of the 7 rounds that she rode and scored maximum possible points in 4 of those rounds. The Beacon Wheelers duo of Eleanor Dickinson and Henrietta Colbourne round out the top three of a very tight points battle with Jessica Roberts in joint 3rd. These 4 riders were more than double the number of points ahead of their nearest rivals and again demonstrates how close the racing was throughout the series. The U12 again had a convincing winner, Nathan Hawthorne of Cycle Sport Pendle scoring maximum possible points in 3 of the 6 rounds he rode, enough to give him more than 70 points margin over William Draper in 2nd and Euan Cameron in 3rd. Beacon Wheelers is clearly a Youth club of some strength – not only did they produce 2nd and 3rd in the U14 Girls but the winner of the U10, Matti Egglestone, way out in front with 194 points, including maximum points from 2 of those races. Charlie Gibson and Tyler Koch take 2nd and 3rd and again, these three were the only riders to move past the magi 100-point marker. Last but not least, the U8’s again saw a superb display of dominant riding, this from Joshua Tarling who scores the most of any Youth rider in the entire series, a whopping 210 points from 6 wins out of 6. In fact with the two dropped scores, this is the maximum number of points possible within the series, a truly remarkable achievement. Zachary Walker and Nathan Fortune bring up the 2nd and 3rd places with consistently strong performances throughout the series. |
