The 2012 Tour Doon Hame stage race will be run over Sunday 8th & Monday 9th April, during the Easter weekend. The race will once again centre on the Borders market town of Dumfries, with race HQ in the Aston Hotel. Entry fee per rider is £45 - full entry details are on the event's listing in the calendar.
The Race
The race will consist of two road stages and a criterium stage. Total distance is expected to be in the region of 186 miles (300 km) in total.
Stage 1 will start from Castle Douglas and finish in Girvan.
Stage 2, the Victory Park Criterium, will also be in Girvan later the same day.
Stage 3, on Monday, will start in Moffat with a run of approximately 100 miles before the finish in Annan.
There will be prizes for the King of the Mountains and the Hot Spot Sprints. During the event there will be a live twitter feed giving the breaks as they happen where they happen. Check the event's website for details.

The event is supported by Magnox, Dumfries & Galloway Council, South Ayrshire Council as well as Endura (Hot Spot Sprints) and J&B Printers (KoM competition) and Metrik Document Solutions, who are helping with administration.
All major teams are expected to enter and some have already done so and with a full field last year, remaining places are expected to be at a premium.
