Location: MK Bowl, Buckinghamshire
Event: 24 March 2012
Report: Snowdon Sports
Youth had its day at the second round of the Team MK Early Season Series as 14-year-old Grace Garner (RST-Trigon Bikes) and Keira McVitty (Buzzcycles.co.uk), 16, filled the top two places in the women’s race.
A seven-strong group went clear early in the race and stayed away to contest the finish despite a number of attempts to create a split – Louise Mahe (Mule Bar Girls) particularly active – with Leicester’s Garner, an under-14 national champion on the track and the younger sister of junior world champion Lucy, taking the sprint ahead of national under-16 circuit champion McVitty.
Results:
1 Grace Garner (RST-Trigon Bikes)
2 Keira Mcvitty (Buzzcycles.co.uk)
3 Molly Weaver (Scott Epic)
4 Louise Mahe (Mule Bar Girls)
5 Clare Leaver (Team Zappi)
6 Anna Reid (Team Zappi)
7 Sian Findlay (Team Zappi) all same time
8 Harriet Owen (Node4-Giordana Racing)
9 Karen Chignall (Team MK)
10 Rebecca Keogh (Solihull CC)
