Team Corley Cycles’ Matthew Jones sprinted to victory in the Wally Gimber Trophy in Kent on Sunday.
The 22-year-old Milton Keynes-based rider edged ahead of rival Marcel Six (Metaltek) at the end of the 88-mile course which was based around Woodchurch, near Ashford.
The pair battled all the way around the finish straight in a two-way duel, but it was Jones who just took the win, while third spot went to Simon Gaywood (IG Sigma Sport) who led in the best of the chasing group.
The winner of the annual event received the Wally Gimber Trophy , £300 worth of products from race sponsor High 5 and a bottle from Francesco Moser's vineyard hour record collection.
Organiser Nigel Wood said: “Thank you to all the riders especially those who have supported the race previously. There were three former winners in the top five which shows the strength in depth of the field this year and produced a worthy winner in Matthew Jones.
“I especially appreciate the contributions of our sponsors - David Rumm of rummlaw solicitors, High 5 energy products, Giordana and Balfes Bikes of Dulwich which meant this year's prize list was the largest ever.”
