Tenth last year, Gerry McGarrity (Inverclyde Velo) stepped up to take the honours in horrendously wet and windy conditions for Royal Albert CC’s early-season 10-mile time trial on the Cambusbarron course in Stirling.
McGarrity, who went over a minute quicker than 12 months earlier despite the weather, finished with a winning margin of 13 seconds over Nick Tryon (Dooleys Cycles) with third place going to Mark Ewing (West Lothian Cycles) in 22-09.
Ythan CC's Fiona Duncan, a tandem pilot with GB's paracycling team who raced at the London 2012 games, took a clear victory in the women's category with 23-34, more than a minute ahead of the next closest female, Victoria Hunter (Sandy Wallace Cycles) with 24-48.
