The National Women’s Road Series continues with round three at the Hillingdon GP and with leaders Anne Ewing (Breast Cancer Care Cycling Team) and Karla Boddy (MG-Maxifuel Pro Cycling) both absent from the provisional start list a change at the top of the standings is a possibility.
Ewing had taken the overall victory at the City of Perth Grand Prix in the opening event of nine in the series before Boddy’s dramatic win at the Cheshire Classic left the pair level on 87 points.
Entries available on Sunday mean the duo could yet defend their slender advantages but otherwise a myriad of riders in close proximity can profit.
Boddy’s teammate Charline Joiner (MG-Maxifuel Pro Cycling), who was pivotal in delivering her to her first national series win in the north west, will be present and starting just eight points back should close the deficit if she can repeat her haul from Cheshire where she finished sixth.

Fourth overall, Johnson Health Tech Grand Prix Series leader Hannah Barnes (MG-Maxifuel Pro Cycling) is not scheduled to be present in the capital.
But Eileen Roe (Breast Cancer Care Cycling Team) - winner of the stage two time trial in Perthshire - is as too is Emma Grant (Matrix Fitness Racing Academy), keen to experience the victory she was denied by millimetres in Cheshire.
Emma Trott of Dutch outfit Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team will make her 2013 national series bow, the 23-year-old building towards the Giro Rosa Grand Tour which begins on the 30 June.
Great Britain Olympic Development Programme athletes Emily Kay (Scott Contessa Epic) - third in Cheshire, Emily Nelson (Solihull CC), Hayley Jones (Node 4 Giordana Women’s Team) and Bethany Hayward (Scott Contessa Epic Cycles) are all part of the robust field of over 50 riders.
The flat closed circuit at Hillingdon will be at contrast with the hillier Perth and Cheshire courses making a bunch sprint likely. Two-time junior women’s road world champion Lucy Garner, now of Team Argos – Shimano, enjoyed the win in both 2011 and 2012.
