Event: 22 September 2013
Report: Ben Goddard/Snowdon Sports

Ryan Visser (Redhill CC) sprinted out of a 13-man breakaway to take victory in the 2/3 category race in round three of the Après series in Brighton.

An early split let an 11-man group go clear which left ASL 360 riders Pete Morris and Dan Gardner with a lot to do to bridge the gap to the breakaway which were working well together.

The pair bridged the gap with 30 minutes still to go and the 13-man breakaway group lapped the rest of the field then took it easy with their eyes on the sprint.

Visser, aged 29 and from Redhill, took the honours again just pipping Barny Willard (In-Gear) and Richard Unwin (VC Meudon) came home third.

A resurgent Luke Farren showed both power and class jumping away from the rest of the field to win convincingly for Brighton Mitre in the Masters.

In the fourth category race Brighton Mitre’s Brazillian ace Francisco Piai proved it was no fluke last week when he came past Duncan Mahwinney’s to win by five bike lengths.

An unusually active third cat race didn't settle down until around 40 minutes in and then they all seemed to play it cagey until the last lap.

Jess Harding (Neon Velo) just took victory in a photo finish from Rapha Condor’s Livio Nannetti.

Winner of the youth events were Chris Jackson (Strada-Sport) in the under-16s, Oliver Nixon (VO2 Development Team) in the under-14s and Rahul Fortescue Talwar (PPYCC) in the under-10s.
