Scottish Cycling is giving the opportunity for seven Junior riders to compete as Scotland in the Tour Series and Junior CiCLe Classic over the next few weeks.
Scotland were offered to put a team into the North trio of Tour Series stages, Motherwell, Aberdeen and Durham – giving the team an opportunity to qualify for the final in Stevenage.
Taking to the start line tomorrow (23rd May 2017) in Motherwell will be Joe Nally, Stephen Dent, Dylan Hughes and Innes Johnston. The team will also be joined by Under 23 rider Mark McGuire.
The Aberdeen Stage of the competition two days later will also feature Joe Nally, Stephen Dent and Dylan Hughes – however this time joined by Finn Crockett and Alex Macrae.
On Saturday in Durham, Joe Nally, Stephen Dent, Dylan Hughes and Finn Crockett will get a pair of fresh legs from Joe Reilly.
Riding for their own teams in the women’s Tour Series competition will be Scots Rhona Callander (Jadan), Jenny Holl (Jadan), Neah Evans (Storey Racing), Jennifer George (Storey Racing), Katie Archibald (Team WNT) and Stage 6 winner Eileen Roe (Team WNT).
Scottish Cycling Performance Programme rider Andy Brown will also be riding for his own team Metaltek Kuota. Perthshire's Grant and Fraser Martin will also be riding for Raleigh GAC.
In two weeks’ time (3rd/4th June 2017), whilst Fort William hosts the UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup, a team of juniors will be competing on the road in the Junior CiCle Classic. The team will be made up of Joe Nally, Dylan Hughes, Stephen Dent, Finn Crockett, Innes Johnston and Alex Macrae.
