Hundreds of amateur cyclists will come together on Sunday, 16 June 2013 to enjoy a challenging day out in Yorkshire’s scenic hills and dales.
They will be taking part in the Three Peaks Classic, an organised on-road ride through the valleys, high moorlands and picturesque local communities of the Yorkshire.
The fully-supported cyclosportive will also raise funds for Henshaws Society for Blind People which has helped disabled people in Northwest England since 1837.
In addition to individual riders, corporate teams are expected to share the grandeur of the Yorkshire Dales – and tackle some of its most challenging hills!

Popular cycling sportives
Sportives are becoming increasingly popular with British riders. They offer a well-selected and clearly signed routes with parking facilities, organised start and finish points, generous food stops, mobile mechanical support services, plus personal support in the case of incidents or accidents.
Although the event being organised by Rob Lawrie Adventure is not a race or a time trial, each rider will carry a micro-chip allowing their time to be recorded. Many participants like to set a personal best and every finisher will receive a Medals and goody bag.
Taking place in the middle of the cycling season just a week before mid-summer, the Three Peaks Classic will offer two routes that take in the classic Dales sights of Pen-y-Ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside.
Starting near the National Park border, one route will be 60-miles-long; the other 90-miles. The rides take in iconic locations, such as Ribblehead, with its famous viaduct, as well as Dent and Ingleton. One highlight will be Thornton Lane from Dentdale to Ingleton with its stunning scenery and short but brutal climb.

Support will include GPS and printable route maps, static and NEG motorcycle marshals,mechanical assistance, insurance & first aid, plus event photography.
The cost of entry covers a donation to Henshaws Society for Blind People which has helped disabled people in Northwest England since 1837.
