Event 5 May 2013
When most people think of the East Midlands their first thought is unlikely to be hilly, or tough. But with the Tour of the National Forest Sportive Loughborough Students Cycling Club aim to change your view of the east-midlands and ensure you leave full of praise of the challenging route which winds its way up and down through the picturesque country lanes criss-cross through the National Forest area.
As a club with a long and rich history we aim to make sure you leave with a desire to return in the future, either for the excellent riding, the top quality cakes, the smiling faces of the volunteers along the route or even for that free photograph of you doing your best not to pull a face up that last hill.
With three rides of varying length (160, 100 and 45 km) available riders of all abilities will find something to suit. The routes will be fully signposted and to ensure there are no problems a detailed route map will be provided to all competitors. In addition to ensuring you safely make it round the route there will be a number of feed stations on along each route as well as free mechanical support if your unlucky enough to need it. All finishers will receive a goodie bag including a free t-shirt as well as post ride food in the brand new Loughborough University Stadium.
