The Tour of the National Forest Sportive in May 2013 was a sell-out event, which changed many people’s views of the east midlands. Organisers are delighted that this event shall be run in 2014 on Sunday May 4.
This sportive shall let you discover the particularly tough gradients around Loughborough ensuring you leave full of praise of the challenging route which winds its way up and down through the picturesque country lanes and criss-cross through the National Forest area.

The routes will be fully signposted and to ensure that there are no problems a detailed OS route map will be provided to all participants in their riders packs. Here are some reviews from last year’s event:
“A very enjoyable day, really well organised. Feed stations were excellent and the facilities at the uni were ideal. So nice to be able to have pleasant changing facilities and get a hot shower after the ride. The staff throughout the day were efficient and encouraging. Definitely be back next year. Thanks.” Brian Martin
“Probably the most well thought out Sportive I've done in the U.K. Right down to rider emergency contact details on the back of the number.” Ray Martlock
“A superb event-well organised, friendly and challenging. Never knew there were so many hills around this way or that it was so pretty. Lovely people on the feed stations and great food! Clear signposting and it was great to have been able to download the route beforehand. Possibly my favourite ever sportive. Well done to all concerned.” Peter Hillier
“I thought the event was fantastic. It exceeded all my expectations. Everybody involved in organising it had a big smile on their face and were above and beyond helpful. They were; the people who handed out the race packs, the lady who found me a spare plastic tie for my race number before the start, the race starters, the folk who were manning the feed stations, the people at the finish line, the very very nice people who gave me my finishers bag, the nice lady serving lasagne, the masseurs, the car-park attendants. All extremely happy, helpful, and encouraging. I loved it.” Jack Beavis
