  • Men’s Team Sprint: Verified time of 52.00 seconds or better before entry closing date.
  • Women’s Team Sprint: Verified time of 56.00 seconds or better before entry closing date.

What criteria do I need to set my qualifying time?

Qualification times must be set under the following criteria. Times claimed must be able to be verified by:

  • The result sheet from an open, selection or invitation event on the UCI International Calendar from 1st January 2023 and 20th January 2025 (e.g. 2023 or 2024 National Track Championships, UCI Track Cycling Nations Cup, European Championships, UCI Track Event on the UCI Calendar).
  • By verification from an approved operator of the Electronic Timing System at a recognised velodrome during a British Cycling sanctioned event.
  • By verification from an approved operator of the Electronic Timing System at an organised event at a velodrome equipped with a verified and approved electronic timing system and conducted under British Cycling national record conditions.
  • By a hand timed effort using a start gate and BC qualified timekeeping conducted under British Cycling national record conditions.
  • All qualification times must be sent with the above verification and documentation, to track@britishcycling.org.uk

Note - hand times will only be accepted if achieved under British Cycling national record conditions and countersigned by two British Cycling approved timekeepers stating the location, date and time achieved for the ride.

Composite teams

British Cycling will be allowing composite teams to compete in the Team Sprint event at the Lloyds National Track Championships 2025 between 21st and 23rd of February 2025 at the National Cycling Centre, Manchester. Under regulation G5.8.1., British Cycling will allow qualifying teams to compete in the championships under the following criteria:

  • All composite teams must set a qualifying time outlined in the 2025 LNTC Team Sprint Qualification Criteria in the above section.
  • The team's qualifying time must be added to the event entry.
  • A minimum of two riders who achieve the qualifying time must compete in the first round of the championships in the team sprint (TS). A maximum of five riders can be entered into the team sprint.
  • All team member names and membership numbers must be added to the composite team’s entry. Failure to complete this correctly will result in the entry not being accepted.
  • Riders of a composite team cannot be named in any other competing teams in that competition.
  • A team name will be required for all composite teams. British Cycling will deem the appropriateness of all team names and will contact the team lead/manager if an amendment is needed. Teams must make their best endeavours to wear matching kit befitting of a national championship, however we understand cost implications could be a factor.
