Clubs providing coaching sessions for children and young people can register for Go-Ride status. By registering the club for Go-Ride, it will be demostrating the club offers a safe and structured environment to help children and young people get into cycling and support talented riders to realise their potential.
If you would like to register your club for Go-Ride, you will need to demonstrate that your club has:
- British Cycling affiliation
- British Cycling Club Accreditation or Club Development Programme registration
- Regular coaching sessions in a traffic-free environment for children.
- A minimum of one qualified Level 1 or Intro to Coaching cycling coach (a Level 2 or Coaching in Context coach is required for Go-Ride Racing).
- All volunteers working with under 18's have a British Cycling DBS check
- All volunteers have completed Safeguarding Awareness award.
- All coaches have in date first aid certificates.
- Plans or willingness to develop children and youth cycling.
Once registered as Go-Ride, the club can access our national programmes, which include Go-Ride Racing for novice riders, Youth Development Awards and the Young Volunteers Programme. You will also be able to make use of additional resources to help your club develop further.
If your club doesn't yet meet the above criteria, don't worry - our National and regional development teams will support you through the next steps.
