Report│Result│ImagesStage 5│Thursday 15 September Exeter - Exmouth - Mark Renshaw took HTC-Highroad's second victory at the Tour of Britain ahead of Mark Cavendish, in what could be the final one-two for the team-mates who for five years have dominated the world of road sprinting. Stage 6│Friday 16 September Taunton - Wells - Another stage win, another ten second time bonus and with it - quite probably - the Tour of Britain; Lars Boom may have been fortunate to hold off team-mate Michael Matthews in Stoke, but took an emphatic victory in Wells, deposing every other contender in one fell sprint. Stage 7│Saturday 17 September Bury St Edmunds - Sandringham: With Lars Boom now in control of the race, this was always going to be a stage for where a commited break could produce a winner. And so it proved, with Bagdonas of AN Post out-sprinting five fellow escapees to win in Sandringham. Stage 8a │Sunday 18 September London - Stage 8a a short time trial round Whitehall in central London was won by Alex Dowsett of Team Sky, ahead of the overall leader Lars Boom of Rabobank. Despite its short length, this stage also produced some significant changes in the GC. Report & Results Stage 8a│Images Stage 8b│Sunday 18 September London - Stage 8b, a circuit race, was won by HTC's Mark Cavendish from team-mate Mark Renshaw, but not before an impressive 9 lap break by Ronan McLoughlan and Kristian House had threatened to deny the field a chance of one last bunch sprint. |
